The team at Castle Brook Vineyard are very excited to announce we have just been awarded a Gold Medal at the Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships 2015. We are thrilled to be receiving this award and add it to our collection of awards and medals for 2015.
The panel of three judges at the Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships described our 2009 Classic Cuvée as ‘Round and Creamy, with charm’ and ‘a good blend of yeast-complexed fruit’. Needless to say we are very pleased with these comments.
We have just sent another thousand bottles of 2009 vintage to be disgorged, bottled and labelled at the famous Ridgeview Wine Estate in East Sussex. It won’t be long before they are returned back to us in Ross-on-Wye and are ready to be sent out to stockists throughout the local counties and further afield.
To celebrate our Gold Award we are offering 25% off all orders and free delivery over £120. Just enter ‘GOLD’ in the promo box at the checkout.

What a great way to start the weekend!!
Sadly we don’t have tickets for Centre Court or even Henman Hill, but that won’t stop us from soaking up the fantastic sense of national unity that Wimbledon brings with it each summer.
Here at Castle Brook we have been following the Tennis for the last ten days and are very excited for Andy Murray’s performance in the Semi finals today. With a tough game ahead of him against the Suisse, Federer and the Djokovic – Gasquet game to get us in the mood, it makes for a gripping afternoon! We will be behind Murray all the way and fingers crossed he makes it through to Sunday’s Final and lifts the trophy for the second time in his career.
Get ready for plenty of Oooh’s and Aaah’s as Murray takes to centre court later today. Grab a glass of bubbly in support, why not have some of our Wye Valley Blueberries as a healthy snack too. Don’t forget to tweet us @CastleBrookwine with your Centre Court delights.
Best of Luck Murray – We’re behind you all the way!
Here at Castle Brook Vineyard, the sun is shining, the tennis is on and we’ve found yet another reason to pop the cork of our delicious English sparkling wine. We have just won the ‘Best Presented Wine’ Award at the English and Welsh Wine of the Year Competition, beating 30 other wines to the title!
We also scooped a Silver Medal in this competition for our 2009 Classic Cuvée. We are thrilled with the win! 2009 has proved to be a fantastic year for our sparkling wine and we hope the 2010 vintage will be even better. We would like to say a huge thank you to The Seed Group for their fabulous design of the new bottle and our new website.
Chris went into BBC Hereford and Worcester HQ last Friday to discuss the processes behind our award-winning English sparkling wine from Herefordshire and do a blind taste test live on air. Hear what he has to say with Toni and Elliot here at 2:25 –http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02sz98k
And here’s the award winning wine– looking great don’t you think?
Why not celebrate with us and grab yourself a bottle too – available from our online shop or call 01989 562 770 for local stockists.
The end of May brought English Wine Week from 23rd May – 31st May. It is a campaign designed to raise awareness of English wine and to celebrate the UK’s growing international Reputation.
To celebrate this fantastic week we attended ‘A Celebration of English Wine’, an evening of the Three Counties finest wine producers at The Feathers Hotel in Ledbury. It was an exclusive event, with 8 other vineyards attending.
We invited some friends from the industry who had a great evening sampling all the wines on offer. There were over one hundred guests in attendance, making a great atmosphere and a very successful evening for all – Thank you very much to Liz for organising such a splendid evening.
This was a great excuse to show case our newly branded bottle which we hope you will all agree looks very smart!
Our first ever blog post brings with it exciting news that we have just won a Silver Award from the Decanter World Wine Awards for our 2009 Castle Brook Sparkling Wine. The Decanter World Wine Awards is the world’s largest and most influential wine competition, it is judged by the world’s wine experts. Here at Castle Brook we are all thrilled with our award and can’t wait to enter more competitions with our sparkling wine – hopefully all with a similar outcome!
